She is a woman on the verge of fifty with gray and silvered hair, no longer youthful chasing a Summer tan, but an aging gardener who wears sunblock and sits in front of an infrared lamp for the good good rays. She can cry with the best of them but make no mistake about it she would rather laugh until she pees. She still dances, roller skates and yes that is her you see peddling a three-wheeler on Beach Blvd in Waveland with lights giving glow to the pavement below and stars above. She is music, she is joy, she is high vibrational.
She is always dealing, even when you feel she is not. She is always laughing (let’s reiterate that), even when you feel she is sad. In fact, she is not sad, remorseful, low vibrational, hiding, depressed, or angry. She does not sit in blame but rather stands on a rock of faith that all is well. She would rather be giving, kind, easy going and truly hates when pushed not to be. She can daydream with the best of them and her dreams during sleep do come true.
She makes to-do lists. She enjoys time with her grand-Bebe, and ALL that he teaches her. She is a traveler…for music, for plants, for her children (but don’t ask her to travel alone unless you are her children, for real, not happening). She is holding some major boundaries these days.
She has learned to cook and eat in such a way MOST if NOT ALL wouldn’t believe unless you’ve witnessed the process. She is an herbalist nerd, nose is often in a book of wellness over reading something mindless. She does her best to practice what she preaches. She prays a lot, sometimes days in a row if someone or something needs it. She has come to enjoy being quiet. She pushes herself daily to listen more.
She is not you. She is me.
I am all these things and so much more. With love, your vintage gal stuck in a modern world.
